shop sale and craft fail

also, i had this crafty photo-filled blog planned for today, wherein i showed off this pretty tree the kids and i made out of twigs.

the activity helped me get some of my holiday bearings together (can i just say how i'm not feeling the whole holiday spirit this year?) and the kids had a blast painting the sticks.

when my husband suggested using a glue gun to hold it together i went along despite my disdain for the glue gun. it seemed to work, too, and then this happened.

 

i don't want to talk about it. no but really, it's all okay now (gorilla wood glue, duh). also, i had treated myself to christy tomlinson's ornament workshops (both the 2011 and the 2012) during her black friday sale. perhaps i should log in and get busy...
